Chronos and Kairos

Chronologically speaking, today is November 14th 2005. But in the Greek we have another word for time, kairos, meaning 'when the time is right'. Think of an apple. A farmer does not plan to pick it on August 3, but when the time is right depending on factors of weather and temperature. When is the time to move to Canada from the USA? Our country is on a downward slide and I can only think of Jews in Germany during the 1930's. When do we wake up to the full meaning of events which can seem ho-hum, business as usual, especially when we are lulled by important facts like the cellulite on the bum of Paris Hilton?
